Di ritorno da una squisita cena a base di coccodrillo e serpente - ci si dovrà pur adeguare alle usanze locali prima o poi - ne approfitto per mettermi in pari con il programma del viaggio aggiornando il Blog.
Qui di seguito trovate alcune foto scattate ad Hanoi, la prima meta del Vietnam, dove ci trovavamo poco più di una settimana fa. Non avevo grandi aspettative per il capoluogo vietnamita ... essendo una grande città (ben 6,562 milioni di abitanti), temevo di trovare un ambiente eccessivamente caotico e poco curato. Invece, mi sono dovuta ricredere. Soprattutto nella città vecchia, l'ambiente presenta un' atmosfera tipicamente asiatica, con mercati, bancarelle, ristoranti e piccoli negozietti, il tutto in una cornice curatissima. Il traffico (soprattutto motociclistico) è da pazzi, ma questo è poi il bello del Vietnam !
Lo spirito comunista è ovviamente molto presente, in quanto parte della cultura e del governo vietnamita.
Nelle foto troverete un po' della città vecchia, il Tempio di Ngoc Son al centro del Lago di Hoan Kiem, il parco dedicato a Lenin e un anche un po' di movida vietnamita !
DOVE DORMIRE
Noi abbiamo soggiornato allo Sport Hotel, nella città vecchia, e ci siamo trovati bene. L'ambiente è confortevole e pulito. Per una tripla con condizionatore abbiamo speso 7$ a testa.
La nostra prima scelta era il Backpacker Hostel, ma purtroppo i posti erano esauriti. Ovviamente si tratta di un ambiente molto giovane, dove organizzano feste a tema tutte le sere e dove si riunisce la maggior parte dei backpacker di passaggio. Essendo a pochi metri dall'hotel dove ci trovavamo, siamo comunque riusciti a prendervi parte !
Just came back from a delicious dinner eating snake and crocodile meat - I really have to admit that they're really good - I'm taking advantage of this free time to update the Blog.
You can find some pictures above. They're about Hanoi, our first Vietnamese destination, which we visited one week ago. Since Hanoi is a very big city (6,562 milion people), I was afraid to find a caotic town without any of the asian charm. But I actually was wrong. Especially in the Old Town, the atmosphere is simply magical, full of markets, restaurant and small shops. Of course the traffic (especially the motorbikes) is crazy ... but this is the Vietnamese style !
The communist spirit is obviously very present, as part of the Vietnamese culture and government.
In these pictures, you will see some about the old town, the Ngoc Son Temple in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake, the park dedicated to Lenin and some of the Vietnamese partylife as well !
BOOKING SUGGESTIONS
We stayed at the Sport Hotel, in the Old Town and everything was right. It's clean and comfortable. We paid 7$ per head for a triple room with air conditioning.
Actually, our first choice was the Backpacker Hostel, but unfortunately it was fully booked. It's a very young place, where they organise a theme party every night and where you have the chance to meet a lot of travellers from all around the world. Since it was very close to our hotel we spent our evenings there !
