Dopo circa 5 ore di bus da Hué, arriviamo ad Hoi An, che ci conquista immediatamente con il suo meraviglioso centro storico, pieno di templi colorati ma, soprattutto, di preziose boutiques di abbigliamento, dove è possibile farsi fare un bellissimo abito su misura con pochi dollari. Purtroppo ho dovuto rinunciare all'idea di acquistarne uno ... lo zaino è già abbastanza pieno e poco adatto a trasportare oggetti delicati (sigh). Con le sue curatissime vie, illuminate da lanterne di tutti i colori e piene di negozietti caratteristici, Hoi An non può che incantare.
La città, da secoli nota come centro di commercio a tutti i mercanti del Sud-Est Asiatico, fu dichiarata patrimonio dell'umanità dall'UNESCO nel 1999.
Durante il giorno, le rive del Thu Bon sono animate da un vivace mercato alimentare, mentre, la sera, i locali notturni si riempiono di turisti e backpackers provenienti da tutto il mondo.
Da non scordare la magnifica spiaggia di Cua Dai, a pochi km dalla città, con sabbia bianchissima. Un vero e proprio Paradiso dove ci siamo rilassati per qualche giorno.
After 5 hours on the bus from Hué, we headed to Hoi An, which immediately enchanted us with its gorgeous city centre, where you can find lots of colorful temples and precious boutiques selling handicraft and tailor-made dresses for few dollars. Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to buy any ... my backpack was completely full already and actually it's not the perfect place where to keep long silk dresses (sigh). Walking down its lovely streets, lighted up by romantic lanterns and full of nice shops, it's impossible not to fall in love with Hoi An.
The city was knows in the past as main commercial centre throughout South-East Asia and, in 1999, was declared World Heritage from UNESCO.
During the day, on the Thu Bon riverside, you will find the daily market. During the night, you can have a drink in some of the bars and restaurant and meet all the other tourists or backpackers form all around the world.
