Dopo una settimana impiegata per ambientarci - e soprattutto per darci alla pazza gioia - ho finalmente trovato il tempo di aggiornare il Blog su questa fantastica avventura.
Le pagine da scrivere sono decisamente tante, perciò ne verrà fuori ben più di un post !
Day 1 - BANGKOK
Partiti il 17 Aprile mattina da Roma, arriviamo finalmente in Thailandia il 18 Aprile sera - dopo uno scalo a Colombo ed uno a Kuala Lumpur - e ad attenderci ci sono la folla ed il caldo di Bangkok, dove - per il momento - abbiamo soggiornato solo una notte, per riprenderci dal viaggio durato più di 24h. Per fortuna avremo occasione di ritornarci più avanti !
Abbiamo passato la notte al Lub - d Hostel di Silom, un ostello nuovo, moderno e pulitissimo, nonché pieno di giovani. Il migliore in cui sia mai stata a dire il vero.
Il giorno dopo, c'inoltriamo alla scoperta della capitale, mentre ci rechiamo verso la stazione di Hua Lamphong per comprare i biglietti del treno che, quella notte, ci avrebbe condotto a Chiang Mai.
Una città come Bangkok non può che coinvolgerti pienamente. Modernità di stampo occidentale e tradizioni asiatiche convivono in un mix assolutamente originale.
Della serie ... non portate i vostri figli a giocare a Bangkok !

Eccoci pronti per affrontare le 15 ore di viaggio nel treno notturno per Chiang Mai, il principale centro della Thailandia del Nord!
Per fortuna il treno è stata una bella sorpresa ... i letti erano comodi e i servizi ottimi (meglio di Trenitalia ad essere onesta).
E svegliarsi la mattina completamente immersi nella giungla ... beh, non ha prezzo !
Day 2 - CHIANG MAI
Arrivati in città, ci siamo subito diretti nel centro antico per visitarlo e per pranzare in uno dei tantissimi mercatini.

Tra templi e il Sunday Market - un coloratissimo mercato notturno che coinvolge tutta la strada principale durante la Domenica a partire dalle 18 in poi - non ci siamo certo annoiati.

After a whole week spent on trying to settle in - but expecially having a lot of fun - I have finally found some time to update the blog about this amazing experience.
And I really have a lot to write about ... Basically I need to write more than one post !
DAY 1 - BANGKOK
We left on the 17th of April from Rome and we finally arrived in Bangkok on the 18th of April, during the evening - after 2 flight changes, one in Colombo and another one in Kuala Lumpur. We stayed in Bangkok just for a night so far. But we will have the chance to go back there again !
We spent the night at the Lub - d Hostel in Silom. It's a very clean and new hostel, full of nice and young people. Actually the best hostel I've been in my life.
The day after, we took a short tour of the city, on the way towards the Hua Lamphong railway station, where we had to buy the tickets for the train which, that night, would have brought us to Chiang Mai.
You cannot not falling in love with Bangkok. Western modernity and asiatic tradition get mixed together, and the result is simply extraordinary.
And you absolutely have to try the typical Bangkok street food !
After a short break in the hostel, here we are, ready for a 15 hours journey on the night train to Chiang Mai, the main city of Northern Thailand !
Luckily the train definitely exceeded my expectations. The beds were clean and comfortable and all the onboard services were very efficient.
We fell asleep in the night in Bangkok and we woke up in the morning with the jungle outside our windows ... simply amazing !
Day 2 - CHIANG MAI
Once we reached Chiang Mai, we immediately went to visit the city centre. You can find lots of gorgeous temples there. We visited the main ones: Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chiang Man, the oldest in town.
We also went to the Sunday Market walking street: a colorful night market which normally takes place on Sunday from 6 pm from Tha Phae Gate along Ratchadamnoen Road for about 1 km.
