Weekend in Aberdeen

Lo scorso week-end, io e il mio ragazzo Mario siamo stati ad Aberdeen, in Scozia, per passare qualche giorno insieme al nostro caro amico spagnolo Javier, che vive e lavora nella città scozzese dall'anno scorso. E' stato un intero week-end all'insegna del divertimento. Ci hanno raggiunti anche Gianmarco, un nostro caro amico di Padova ora residente in Inghilterra, e un intera crew di amici spagnoli abitanti ad Aberdeen. Fortunatamente non era la prima volta che mi recavo in questa città...dico fortunatamente perché per lo meno avevo già avuto modo di visitarla, siccome in questa occasione non abbiamo proprio fatto del vero e proprio turismo, se non per quanto riguarda i bar e le discoteche,...ma di certo non posso lamentarmi! Due giorni passati a cimentarci in gare di cucina tra piatti (a presto le ricette), e soprattutto vini, italiani e spagnoli, coca e rum, pre-party, party e after-party in entrambe le serate e mille risate. Sono quei weekend che, davvero, vorresti non finissero mai.

La cosa più bella di viaggiare secondo me, sta proprio in questo. Conoscere sempre gente nuova, persone che non avresti conosciuto altrimenti, ma che riescono a darti  e a lasciarti quel qualcosa in più, anche solo un ricordo, ma spesso un contatto, una vera e propria amicizia. Abbiamo conosciuto Javi e Gianmarco grazie ad un Erasmus in Norvegia due anni fa e siamo tutt'ora in contatto. Cogliamo ogni occasione per passare del tempo insieme, nonostante ognuno sia andato per strade diverse, nonostante, come dice Javi, il nostro accento sia diventato irlandese.

Spero di avere di nuovo presto l'occasione di passare un altro week-end del genere, intanto voglio condividere con voi le (pazze) foto scattate durante questi giorni.

Last weekend , my boyfriend Mario and I went to Aberdeen, in Scotland , just to spend a few days with our Spanish friend Javier, who currently lives and works there. It was such a funny and crazy weekend. Also Gianmarco reached us, a good friend of ours coming from Padua, Italy, now living in England, and, with him, a big crew of Spanish friends from Aberdeen. Fortunately this wasn't my first time there ... I say "fortunatley" just because, at least, I already visited it once, as this time we didn't really have the chance to see anything over there but the disco clubs...but I certainly can't complain about that ! Two days spent just doing cooking competitions between italian and spanish dishes and wines (the recipes soon), drinking rum and coke, having pre-parties , parties and after-parties both the nights and a lot of fun !! The kind of weekend which should  just last forever.

The best thing about traveling, in my opinion, is just meeting new people who you wouldn't have known otherwise, but who can become a contact, a real friendship. We met Javi and Gianmarco thanks to an Erasmus programme in Norway two years ago and we are still in contact. We just take every opportunity to spend time together, even though everyone is living a different life, although, as Javi said, our accent is Irish now.

I hope to have  the chance to spend another weekend like this one again soon, in the meantime I really want to share with you  the ( crazy ) pictures taken during these days (you can find them above).
